Resting Places
Beth Moses, Beth David, Lakeside Memorial Park and Har HaMenuchot
David Brecher and his sons Eugene and Alex rest side by side in Beth Moses Cemetery, West Babylon, Long Island, in the plot of Congregation Yetev Lev D’Satmar — Section 2, Block 18, Row 6: David in Grave 18, Eugene in Grave 17 and Alex in Grave 16, as the cemetery’s own burial register records; Alex’s son Meir rests in the same cemetery, in another section. Esther Brecher, her daughter Lucy and son-in-law Paul Friedman, and Anne’s parents Elias and Malka Wahrsager rest in Lakeside Memorial Park, Florida. Samuel and Rose Eilender rest in Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, New York. Yehuda Aryeh Brecher is buried on Har HaMenuchot in Jerusalem, and Freidy’s husband Chaim Shaul Schondorf in Wellwood Cemetery, West Babylon. The stones of Alex and Anne are reproduced in Part I.

Emigrants from Bănila pe Ceremuș (Banila on the Cheremosh, most likely, not the rabbi’s Banila on the Siret) and its neighbouring village of Ispas bought their own burial plot on Long Island, under the name of the First Banilla–Ispaser Bukowiner society. One Brecher lies there: Mae (Mina) Brecher, daughter of Yeshaya HaKohen, 1903–1989. Where she belongs in the family is not yet known.
